Pelagia is one of my Tampa faves. Their Mothers’ Day brunch was quite the amazing spread.

Mojo Books & Music
2540 E. Fowler Ave. | Tampa, FL 33612 | (813) 971-9717
If you are in need of a little energy, pop by Mojo Books & Music for a Yama, iced coffee. It is coffee that’s cold brewed, low acidity and mega tasty.
Now that Tampa weather it is pushing into the 90-degree level in Florida, an icy-cold coffee is a must to stay cool and awake at the same time. Pop by Mojo for a cup.

Loving Hut
1905 E Fletcher Ave | Tampa, FL 33612 | (813) 977-7888
With much hesitation, I tried out the Loving Hut an international chain of vegan restaurants. To my surprise, it was pretty awesome. We didn’t know anything about the items on the menu, but the super-nice waitstaff recommended some awesome treats. The vegan Pad Thai was the stand-out dish.
Aside from the restaurant’s strange religious affiliation (Quan Yin Method - huh?) and the odd videos on the television, it was a solid experience. While I’m not converting to a vegan lifestyle any time soon, the food was impressive and I will most likely eat there again.

Edison: Food + Drink Lab
912 W Kennedy Blvd | Tampa Florida | 813-254-7111
The photo is of the following appetizer: “Mini kaya toasts with uni > sunny side up quail eggs, toasted house brioche, coconut kaffir jam, mushroom soy.” I don’t understand it, but the chefs at Edison: Food + Drink Lab make tasty stuff. I can’t argue with tasty.

Cigar City Angry Chair
Recently, I attended the a night a Cigar City for the release of a few new brews from Angry Chair, a new sub-brand of sorts. Pretty tasty stuff.
Angry Chair brews I tried include:
Cigar City was packed for this event, but was lots of fun. There were plenty of beer snobs in attendance. They are the type of person that yammers incessantly about some craft brew they’ve tried and how they prefer “hoppier” beers. It made for great people watching while drinking my tasty Angry Chair beer.
