Fact: Tampa’s best grilled cheese is served at The Independent in Seminole Heights. It features Gruyere (oh, you fancy, huh?), pear, and Chinese five spice.

Ella’s Folk Art Cafe
5119 N. Nebraska Ave; Tampa, Fl 33603; 813-234-1000
Sunday is the best day for brunch. Trying to do brunch any other day is just not ethical.
Ella’s is one of many clutch Tampa places to get your brunch-on. This visit to Ella’s in Seminole Heights, I tried the pulled-pork sandwich. Deary me…It was awesome. For sides, oh yea, I had the bacon mac & cheese. Double-awesome.

Taco Bus
913 East Hillsborough Avenue; Tampa, FL 33604; 813-232-5889
It’s no secret that we at the Food Club love Taco Bus. We’ve now reviewed this place over 4,209 times.
There’s not one single characteristic that would accurately represent our love for this place. It could be that Taco Bus is a locally-owned or maybe it is the variety of options or it could be the semi-scary neighborhood of the original location on Hillsborough Ave.
I believe that the most important thing about Taco Bus: the food is just FREAKING DELICIOUS!
Visitors to the Tampa Bay area have to visit Taco Bus. It is not just a novelty for visitors, it is a place that locals will frequent regularly. By the way, if you stop by sometime soon, try the Watermelon water.

Sunday is delicious brunch day at Ella’s. Even though we are currently experiencing a tropical depression in Tampa and would be drenched by simply leaving the house, I still am craving one of their delicious Bloody Mary’s. Take a traditional Bloody Mary, add chipotle-infused vodka, some spice around the glass and dunk in a meaty BBQ-smoked rib. Yes…a rib. Drink it in. It’s a beautiful thing.

Pho An Hoa
2730 W Waters Ave, Tampa, FL
Ordering an all-vegetable pho in a bowl of beef broth might be an oxymoron of sorts. But if this is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
Note to my co-blogger, TP: I think this place could take Pho Quyen down in a Pho-Off any day.

If you have nothing to do on a Sunday and need to work off a screaming hangover, pop over to Ella’s to sort yourself out. Normally, Ella’s has a delicious menu, but on Sundays, they bring out the even bigger guns to wow your taste buds with amazing concoctions, like Fried Chicken & Waffles. If you plan on partaking in the delights of the Sunday menu, budget at least a three hour nap at some point that afternoon.
