Siam Thai takeout and Riesling

If you want a great wine to pair with Thai takeout, Riesling is always a winner. Not all Riesling is sweet, but most of then pair well with spicy Thai goodness.

Ashworth Artisan Chocolate is fantastic. Head down to Hyde Park in Tampa and get yourself some tasty treats.

The beauty of each piece of chocolate make it rather difficult to justify eating. They are little mini works of art.

Favourite: the peanut butter fudge cup swirl.

The Pub at International Mall in Tampa is a near identical replica of a stereotypical British pub.

The two highlights for me are Belhaven on draught and their bread pudding (it’s amazing). I’ve all allsorts of bread pudding and this is some is the best.

The rest of their food is solid as well: fish & chips, shepherds pie, bangers & mash, etc.

It’s well-done British Faire. I only wish they had mushy peas, haggis and eel / kidney pies. I would probably be the only one who ever ordered it though. Can’t hurt to dream.

When you need a British food fix, hit up The Pub at International Mall.

I’ve been to The Bricks several times. It’s a great place to hang out for drinks and their food is solid.

Like many bars around Tampa, they’ve got allsorts of different options to get drunk on. What keeps brining me back is Carlsberg lager. Love that stuff.

Their food always hits the spot. It’s not five star gourmet or especially groundbreaking, but it is tasty and that is really what matters. Favourite dish: The Cure. Basically a badass egg sandwich with bacon, cheddar and this avocado sauce. So good.

Also, service has always been good and the atmosphere is really cool.

Give The Bricks a shot. I’ve not been disappointed yet.

Piquant in Hyde Park is ace. Great atmosphere, quality service and most importantly, the food is tasty.

We had the short rib eggs Benedict and the duck & waffles. You read that correctly…

The eggs Benedict dish was awesome. Duck and waffles were pretty good too. The waffles were a bit on the savoury side.

Overall a very cool place that I hope to return to soon. I need to conquer that pastry case… Oh my.

The Orange Grouper curry at Thai Ruby is excellent. Pair that with a Thai Tea. You can’t go wrong.
